Helping DOE Workers Get the Benefits They Earned.

Who I Am

I’m Sharon Barnhill, RN, with 35 years of nursing experience, including 20 years in oncology. I’ve spent my career helping people through serious illness and guiding families through complex medical decisions.

I’m also the widow of a police officer and the former spouse of a military veteran who died of cancer. I understand service, sacrifice, and what it means to fight for care, answers, and dignity.

Over the years, I watched hardworking people from many industries — energy, manufacturing, federal contractors, first responders, and more — get sick after a lifetime of service and then be ignored or left to navigate the system alone. It left me feeling frustrated, helpless and angry.

That’s why I became an EEOICPA Nurse Advocate. I help individuals and families understand their rights, navigate claims, and secure the benefits they earned.

All my services are free to clients.

When I’m not advocating for EEOICPA claimants, I also work in educational product development. I partner with astronomer Marc Dantonio and SkyTour Livestream to create astronomy‑themed educational plushies that make science accessible and engaging for families. Through my company, NeuroKind, I also develop smart plushies designed to support care for dementia patients and children with autism. Whether in healthcare or education, my focus is always the same: creating tools that make life easier, clearer, and more supportive for the people who need it most.
